   have you ever used the magic_ofs tool here:

   http://svn.gnumonks.org/trunk/reveng-tools/

   it is very simalar to binwalk, but handles byteswaps for each set of bytes.. not quite as polished as binwalk.

   No, I hadn’t seen that before. You’re right, the magic_ofs tool basically does the same thing as binwalk, but as you say, not as many optimizations/features.

   Some of the other utilities look useful too, like bflt_decomp.
